New bugfix release, fixes several crashes, a bug which can result in a lot of memory usage, and the CPU usage of the GUI and download code has been reduced.

3.1.1 has to migrate to Lenny first, which might take some time. In the meantime, I've packaged 3.1.2 and made packages for Debian sid available at: deb http://alioth.debian.org/~modax-guest/ktorrent/ ./ Once 3.1.1 migrates, the packages above will be uploaded to Debian archive. I'm leaving on VACation in the meantime. |

I have not got this issue. Try to reboot your router and rescan with uPnP |

Normally it will only be forwarded when it is really needed. (So when you have a torrent with a udp tracker url in it, which are not that common) |

There is another thing I noticed: In the tracker selection area in the tracker tab where you can tick those check boxes for each tracker I have 4 trackers listed. But the first two are exactly the same. When I unselect the first of the duplicate trackers the second is automatically unselected too. Is this a display bug?
Screenshot: Edit: Another thing I came across: I disabled VHT in the settings. But on a right-click on a torrent in the options section to get additional peers both VHT and peer exchange are checked. I guess VHT should not be checked as it is deactivated. Its maybe just visual matter but it really confused me at first so I checked settings again to make sure it is actually deactivated. |

It's probably a duplicate tracker in the torrent itself. The way we would handle this will result in this behavior. The trackerview displays the list of trackers(including the dupe), but internally only one tracker object is created per unique url.
That is somewhere on my todo list, I'm gonna grey out the option when DHT is disabled globally. |

I just upgraded from the 2 series to KDE 4.1 and ktorrent 3.1.2 and it is all very pretty and seems pretty fast. One thing I noticed is that the 3 series seems to be way less stable than the 2 series. It seems to just randomly crash ( and not so randomly crash when using the scanfolder plugin...). Did a lot of the code get rewritten for kde4? I'm trying to understand why there was such a huge loss of stability... I really like KDE and really appreciate all the work the ktorrent coders do, I'm just curious as to why the very noticeable loss of stability.

Basically everything got rewritten. If you could submit bug reports / post kcrash backtraces here on the forums, it would be appreciated. |

To start of it seems much better than the previous version. For starters I like the new icon. The sinlge blue arrow is much cooler. Although as an artist and designer I would stress that there is still room for improvement. Maybe I should not bring this issue up here, however, I would like to help out with this. That is my main purpose of coming here. I use Ktorrent a lot and I would love to help out in any way possible.
