Sometimes the systray icon disapears here, this happened me twice, overnight. I can get it back by disabling it from settings> hit apply> and enabling it again> hit apple.

Is this kde3 related, or does this also happens on kde4?
I use latest 3.1.2.

If you use 3.x, it has to be kde4 doesn't it?

Edit: I get it, you have 4 installed but use 3 as your desktop.

Anyway, I used XFCE for my window manager and panel, and this has never happened to me.

Correct, i use sidux now which comes with kde3 and some kde4 packages.
