Another bugfix release for the 3.1 series is out. This fixes several bugs :
* A crash caused by a SIGBUS, when diskspace preallocation is disabled * High CPU usage when DNS lookups fail in the UDP tracker code * Several security issues in the webinterface plugin Packages can be found on the website.

Great work!
CPU utilization dropped to 1-3% from 17-19% when using UDP trackers. The whole app seems much faster and more responsive. Maybe just my subjective opinion. Setup: standard openSUSE 11.0 installation ktorrent 3.1.4 from packman repository bb4now, PMC |

I've just installed ktorrent ktorrent-3.1.4-1 (kde4), and it still has a problem I've seen in 3.1.3. Look at the memory usage (1GB) when downloading only one torrent and seeding another:

I think it must be a bug because I was using 2.2.5 and It was heavy in cpu usage, but never eat all my RAM. Even more: the actual version cant't be let working 24h because eats memory until the kernel kills it when tries to allocate more memory than RAM+SWAP. By the way, what's the meaning of this error? (ktorrent works anyway): ktorrent(5727)/kdeui (K*Gesture*) KAction::setGlobalShortcut: Attempt to set global shortcut for action without objectName(). Read the setGlobalShortcut() documentation. |
