3.1.4 was released to address a security vulnerability, and as I understand it, ktorrent-2.2.7 has the same vulnerability. Any news/plans for a new kde3 release (or patch)?

No plans at the moment, the 2.2 series is no longer being developed.

What is your recommendation for folks/distros currently shipping ktorrent 2.2.x? Upgrade to ktorrent v3?

I have decided that there will be one final release in the 2.2 series with these fixes, after that it's done, end of the line.
