[3.2dev] downloading deletes file..

Mon Jan 05, 2009 8:51 am
I've reported this one a while back, its still arround. If you have ktorrent set to download initially to say /data/BitTorrent/incomplete, and have it set to automatically move to /data/BitTorrent, then have a torrent that mysteriously has its download dir set to /data/BitTorrent, ktorrent will attempt to move the file from /data/BitTorrent to /data/BitTorrent, and somehow one or more files will get irrevocably deleted.

Also if theres missing files, many commands tend not to work, they error with a dialog saying a file is missing, and fails to do what you told it to (say, change the download directory).

using latest svn as of a few hours ago.

Ok, now I've even tried to move the data files of a couple torrents to the incomplete folder I have set up after I start it downloading again.. And once it moves the files to the main /data/BitTorrent dir, the very first file in the torrent is missing. Something is VERY wrong here.

Can't reproduce, post the log file of such a thing happening.

I've grabbed what looks relevant, my log is huge, so I thought a partial log of messages containing the actual torrent causing the issue would be enough for now.

Code: Select all
Tue Jan 6 02:21:18 2009: Doing an automatic data check on ARIA The ANIMATION OST
Tue Jan 6 02:22:04 2009: Moving /home/moose/data/BitTorrent/ARIA The ANIMATION OST/ARIA The ANIMATION Drama CD III ORANGE/01. Navigation 01 Party plan start!.mp3 -> /mnt/data/BitTorrent/ARIA The ANIMATION OST/ARIA The ANIMATION Drama CD III ORANGE/01. Navigation 01 Party plan start!.mp3
Tue Jan 6 02:22:08 2009: Could not move /home/moose/data/BitTorrent/ARIA The ANIMATION OST/ to /mnt/data/BitTorrent/ARIA The ANIMATION OST/

And one important thing to note, /home/moose/data is a symlink to /mnt/data. So it tries to copy the file over top, and the file that WAS there, is deleted. I realize this is an odd scenario, but imo it shouldn't be removing the file at all..

Heres some more of the same sort of error, but I moved the torrent to a different folder after I restarted it, so it should't have the same problem anymore:

edit: code paste got truncated, so I've pasted it here

I think, I'm beginning to see what the problem is.

I am getting a "files are missing" dialog box if thats what you're asking. (I have it set to do a full check on finish, I assume thats what triggers the missing files warning).

I'll try and test later. And let you know how it goes. (earlier I stopped all of the torrents that were pointing to ~/data and "moved" them to /mnt/data/BitTorrent/incomplete, so hopefully they should all download properly).
