Hello,

I want to do an experiment with ktorrent-2.2.8. How Can I run multiple ktorrent client on the same computer? What files should I modify?

Thanks.

Well, it is possible by using multiple user accounts, otherwise KDE will stop you doing so.

Code: Select all
KDEHOME=~/.kde-other ktorrent --nofork

should do it

Thanks. But i got the following results:

Failed to get lock on /tmp/.ktorrent_1000.lock : Resource temporarily unavailable
ktorrent is already running!

We use a lock file to only allow one instance of KT per user at the same time, so changing KDEHOME will not work.

If you want this disabled, then you need to edit the code and disable the lock file (apps/ktorrent/main.cpp function GrabPIDLock)
