Hello guys! First of all, I wanted to thank you doing such a great work! =) KTorrent is simply one of the best torrent clients (at least for me =).
Now, I wanted to suggest two things: 1) I live in Kazakhstan, and our government/providers decided to make in-country traffic free of charge and double the speed of normal "outside" internet connection. So it is very useful for me (and not only to me to filter peer's addresses based on which country it is assigned. Of course I can simply add the corresponding IP filter rules, but this is not very user friendly solution, imho KTorrent is capable of showing the country flag in the peer's info list, so... maybe it is possible to set up user's default country and then bring options related to this. For example, I may choose IP filter dialog and simply select "filter addresses that are NOT belong to.... [selected country]". 2) Another thing, is country based traffic shaping. As I said above, speed of in-country traffic is higher than outside, so it would be really cool to allow controlling upload/download speeds for torrents/groups depending on source/destination country also That's all Hope that this will help somehow |
