I just tried first time the possibility to move finished data to other place.
I had folder downloaded about 2 weeks to get the one 550mb file among of few other under 300mb what I had selected "do not download". After the file was finished, I usually go with Dolphin to my "finished" folder where KTorrent moves finished files. (I keep finished, temp and download folders separated). And then I copy the file to removable drive and I check it works untill I delete the original. Now I made mistake and I choosed the file on filelist and selected "move file" and I set it to my home this time. It started to copy it (no information anywhere at all) what I could notice by drive light and low sound of disk head reading. I was wondering why there was no information about progress? After a few minutes I noticed that light was off and there was no sound so I moved to home via dolphin and I wondered where the file was. I even used the search function to my home to find it but no success. It were not on original download directory either. KTorrent told it was 100% downloaded and I can not find file anywhere, not from original place or home where I copied it. (Either on removable if I would accidentally move it there!). I tought I need to use dd to grep the file out somewhere but I planned it to do after night. I placed computer to sleep (RAM) and today I opened Dolphin and the file was on home. Exactly the 550mb size and I clicked it open to Ark. It worked but gave error to extract files from it. Then I planned to copy it to back to download folder and run check on that. I copied it to finished folder and Ktorrent said it was only 0.28% downloaded. I cant find any reason why the "Move file" function have destroyed almost all data (not all!) of that archive. Is the reason that I have not downloaded all other files and moving one file corrupts it? I do not have debug mode available. And I hope there would be somekind log of KTorrent functions (all copy/move/delete etc). ps. I miss the context menu "Scracts data" (or what it was called) what removed files but not torrents. Now I have only "Remove torrent" or "Remove torrent and data" possibilities and sometimes I need to delete all data but keep torrents (like sometimes Ktorrent wants to start downloading all files when starting) But that is other bug. Ah, forget to mention. I have KDE 4.2.2, Mandriva 2009.1 Spring and Ktorrent version is 3.2.0. |
