Using 3.2.1 here. I've just completed a Move Data operation, and was expecting some kind of progress display, but there isn't any.
It'd be nice to have something like this, either a non-modal dialog or an entry in the central KDE notification mechanism to let the user know how far the operation has gone, as opposed to listening for the disks to stop thrashing EDIT: Scratch this, my KDE must be bugged. Just did another "move data" with multiple files and the notification came up. EDIT2: OK, that "move data" operation didn't quite do what I expected. The notification came up for the first file, then disappeared when that operation completed. The operation is still continuing, but I have no idea how far it is along. I'm running KDE 4.2.2 on Ubuntu 9.04 - Jaunty I think. |

I've found it to be rather inconsistent with regards to whether or not kde gives you a transfer dialog. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. I don't know why it wouldn't be consistent, but it doesn't seem to be. It would be nice if it could be made to consistently report it, but whether that's possible depends on why it isn't consistently reporting it right now.
In either case, I think that it would be nice if the ktorrent listed its status as "moving" instead of "queued." Ktorrent seems to be far to interested in showing "queued" as the status. There are other cases - such as when multiple torrents are allocating at once - where it shows "queued" for the status instead of what the real status is. Of course, in the case of moving, there isn't an actual status for it, so it's not quite the same situation, but still, ktorrent's list of statuses is rather lacking I find. |
