3.2.3 and 3.3beta1 released

Two releases on one day, which doesn't happen that much :

3.2.3 is the latest bugfix release for 3.2 featuring some small fixes. A couple of rare crashes were fixed, global shortcuts work again and the plasma applet can now display sizes larger then 4GB properly.

3.3beta1 is the first preview for 3.3, it contains many changes and new features including a redesigned GUI, a new plugin to shutdown your computer when a download is finished, a revamped queue manager, and many more things.

Take a look at the ChangeLog file included in the tar archive, for a full list of changes.

George,

when you release urgent patch release to stable, you could bump version number (to e.g. 3.2.3.1) as well? It is much clearer for distributions and probably you as well (bug reports).

Unless there is something wrong with your phonon headers, that shouldn't happen.

Same here on Arch Linux.. I've had this for some time now.

Arch uses phonon included in Qt. The ktorrent maintainer seems to have disabled the media plugin for that reason.

The VideoWidget was introduced in Qt 4.4, which version of Qt are you using ?

I'm on also on 4.5.2 but on kubuntu.

But seeing that it isn't complaining about not finding the header file, what is in the header file ?

Probably, the problem is that local videowidget.h is included when phonon videowidget.h should be due to broken Phonon/VideoWidget header when built-in phonon from Qt is used.

Ktorrent failure to build (Debian bug #537023)
Qt 4.5.2 bug which causes the issue (Debian bug #537304)

A patch to workaround the issue

Why does KTorrent 3.2.3 needs KDE 4.3? Isnt it a bugfix-release?

But i think you have seen the syntax many times in english before ;=)
I think it would be better, if only the next major version (e.g 3.3) would depend on KDE 4.3. And all Ktorrent-bugfixe-releases would only depend on KDE-bugfix-releases. E.g 4.2.1, 4.2.2, 4.2.3 etc.

I hope you got my point, cause i know my english isnt that good....

Please, take ubuntu specific packaging issues to ubuntu forums. KTorrent builds with KDE 4.2 just fine.
