Hello everyone
As i use torrent mainly for sharing huge files with my friends (selfmade livecds etc), i would be very happy if ktorrent had support for superseeding ( see http://www.bittorrent.org/beps/bep_0016.html ) Seeding would be more efficient, as the clients only download parts which the other clients dont have, and it would also save time as the others then can upload more to each other Thanks in advance, brot |

Have you actually tested that KTorrent is inefficiently seeding?

It may not matter if its efficient, people may choose a client according to what features they offer.
Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_BitTorrent_clients About halfway down the page is the Feature comparison table. if KTorrent had superseeding then every box will be a yes, and KTorrent will one of the few clients that will have a full set of features (Vuze and uTorrent can tick all the boxes). Will ticking all the boxes help build popularity? I don't know. What do people think? |

I think make a "Superseed" function is not a bad idea.
Of course, KTorrent is efficient. But this function don't change efficient. It helps to quick share the data of torrent. |

Super seeding is the number one features, part from DHT/Peer-Exchange.

I agree that a superseeding or initial seeding option would be quite useful.
