Hello.
I'm not quite sure if the feature was not already implemented...

If you have a torrent which contains more than one file (e.g. series) and wish to download them one by one there is a problem (others can say an inconvenience). When you have checked the sequent file for downloading the KT waits for the space allocation for that file but leaves the torrent in downloading (active) state. Within the allocation time KT does not download anything so the seeders disconnect and when the allocation is completed there are not more than 5-10 % of seeders available. To get the full speed and connect to all the seeders you need to restart the torrent.

The feature request is to continue downloading and cache some chunks of the file while the allocation occurs - and after flush it to the allocated file.
The alternative way is to schedule automatic torrent restart after the allocation completes.

I come across the problem with KTorrent 3.2.4 on Kubuntu Karmic 9.10.

Thanks
George

Current trunk keeps connections alive during background tasks such as data scanning or allocating diskspace.

Thanks for the info, George. It seems I'm missing a lot using stable ubuntu repo :)
