I've encountered a pretty bad memory leak in 4.0rc1. After about 8 hours, ktorrent was up to about 600 MB RAM usage, and was at 100% CPU usage of one core. I was unable to get the main window to display itself using the icon in the notifications area, and though the menu from that icon would appear, none of the options worked. I've left it longer than this, and it eventually crashes. I disabled the SOCKS proxy temporarily, and after running for a few hours ktorrent is still around 70 MB of RAM usage, so I'm guessing that's where the problem is.

I will see if I can find a memory leak in the SOCKS code, don't see anything obvious at first sight.

On further testing, I think it's actually uTP support, not the SOCKS proxy that's causing it.

I believe it is due to uTP. I have not had SOCKS enabled at all and have had this leak. I have disabled uTP and will keep you informed.

With uTP enabled, I would have crashes generally every 10-12 hours. I have not had a crash since disabling uTP.

So far no memory leak found in the µTP code, but memory usage does tend to increase slowly.
