Sig 7 Bus Error on a select torrent

Wed Nov 17, 2010 11:22 am
What information would you need to fix this error?

I am running ktorrent on a GuruPlug.
http://www.globalscaletechnologies.com/ ... tails.aspx

root@guruslack:~# cat /proc/cpuinfo
Processor : Feroceon 88FR131 rev 1 (v5l)
BogoMIPS : 1192.75
Features : swp half thumb fastmult edsp
CPU implementer : 0x56
CPU architecture: 5TE
CPU variant : 0x2
CPU part : 0x131
CPU revision : 1

Hardware : Marvell GuruPlug Reference Board

The package is ktorrent-4.0.3-arm-1 for ArmedSlack (Slackware for the ARM processor)

I have been using ktorrent fine for months until this night. It kept Sig 7 crashing. I narrowed it down to one torrent for NCIS episode tonight. Got to 97% and Sig 7. It crashes downloding the last chunk of 64 blocks.

I stop that one and the others continue just fine for hours. I turn that one torrent back on and it will crash.

Bus errors will be dealt with in the 4.1 release.

They are probably caused by something else having truncated the file, ktorrent is attempting to write to. As a workaround remove the torrent (but keep the data), and then reopen it. KTorrent will then scan the data, and should preallocate the missing end of the file again.

If this makes a difference, I run the GuruPlug doing bittorrents sharing the hard drives on my main PC via NFS to offload the main PC. The NFS shares are where the data goes.

Hope this helps - Thank you!

I did what you said. Redownloaded the bittorrent file and restarted it. It checked the data... Watched it to completion, then the error.

It seems to have rejected it and restarted from scratch.
I took a screenshot. I dont know where it is downloading because the destination still says it is 366M that it originally was.
