Hello,

-KTorrent 4.0.4. Ubuntu 10.10.
-I rebooted the OS. Started KTorrent and no torrent information is available in the GUI at all.

-Is it possible to recover from this situation?
-I had 100's of torrents seeding and downloading.

kind regards,
Ian Gregory, Sydney.

Check if the directory ~/.kde/share/apps/ktorrent exists, and if there are subdirectories named tor0, tor1, tor2, ...

If those tor directories are gone, then you are screwed, and you will have to manually reimport all torrents. If it is just a permissions problem and chmod or chown can fix it.

-Those directories appear to be intact. And these are directories relating to completed or 'paused' torrents. Those that were not started previously are lost.
-Dragging these folders onto the GUI causes an error.
-It appears, the directories are only useful if having access to the original torrent file/information and reloading them.
-All custom groupings from the tracker script appear lost.
-Feature request: Any chance this 'bug' can be prevented? Have a 'restore' button at the top of the KTorrent GUI.

Check their permissions.

-Dragging these folders onto the GUI causes an error.

Don't do that

-It appears, the directories are only useful if having access to the original torrent file/information and reloading them.

The directories contain all information necessary of an individual torrent. Including the torrent itself.

-All custom groupings from the tracker script appear lost.

Torrent gone -> tracker gone -> no tracker group

-Feature request: Any chance this 'bug' can be prevented? Have a 'restore' button at the top of the KTorrent GUI.

Have read your other post, I'm beginning to think there is something seriously wrong with your hard disk.

-Its NOT HARD DISK.
-My other posts relate to network congestion due to KTorrent.
-Extremely frequently KTorrent greys out while performing its actions.
-If force quitting enough times. This LOST ALL TORRENTS bug can be reproduced.

kind regards,
Ian Gregory, Sydney.
