Hi out there!
I'd like to request a configurable peer_id (prefix) and HTTP user agent for the next releases: Spoofing the latter is very easy with web browsers, but could also be useful with KTorrent e.g. with trackers/peers that don't like KT. And if you think of security through obscurity, pretending to be e.g. uTorrent likely causes attackers to try the wrong exploits. Imho it would be much cooler just to change some prefs than changing the source and rebuilding for that, don't you think? Gr33tings -XY0815- |

Many sites will blacklist torrent clients that allow that, so people who don't want to spoof the ids suffer.
If you need this functionality, add it to the source yourself. I did it with the old version of KTorrent for KDE 3. |

Those who want to spoof uTorrent can have my patches.
Note: This only changes the UA and peer_id to uTorrent, it doesn't make them configurable, but i'm working on this. |
