Network interface locking would be extremely useful to prevent data leaks. Many times when using a VPN, the connection will drop (especially overnight); if you need your torrent data to go over the VPN tunnel, it would be undesirable for that data to leak over your clear connection if the tunnel drops.
Currently, this can be addressed either by split routing or firewall rules, but it would be nice to have a quick way to be able to force KTorrent to use a given network interface, e.g tun0, and perhaps put up a warning when the interface is not available and give the user the choice to either carry on with another network interface or stop all torrents. Is this possible? Many thanks. |
