How do I share the stuff I have?

OK that's gonna be a dumb question but.. I want to share few files I have so others can download them. How can I do that? I tried making a new torrent but when it asks for tracker... well let's just say I don't know what that is :-) I typing some random name but I got "Error: the tracker is down."

To share stuff with bittorrent you need to have a tracker somewhere. The tracker just keeps track of who is downloading and seeding a file. And whenever a clients wants to download a file, it just asks the tracker for a list of people who are downloading the same file.

So you need to run a tracker. KTorrent is just a client not a tracker, I have no experience with trackers, so I can't give you any advice on that.

You can use some of the popular public trackers and share your files. Visit
www.slyck.com and find some popular BitTorrent trackers. Choose one and read the documentation they provide about seeding. The only thing you'll need is probably the tracker URL which you'll enter in KTorrent MakeTorrent dialog.
