I have had an idea, update again and recompile KT.

Rerun KT change the columns and then quit. Open the file ~/.kde/share/apps/ktorrent/log and look for the line :

USE THE FORCE KTORRENTVIEW !!!!

It should be at the end of the file.

If you find that line, it is a bug in KDE.

Sorry, but the line is not there...

I can also send you a strace log, but I didn't find anything useful there...

Once again: yes. I always test it on installed ktorrent. Or maybe I should test it from a local dir?
And about the log: which one, ktorrent's or strace's? Both are pretty long, should I just paste them here? From what I see there's nothing interesting in ktorrent's log, only lots of torrent-related info - no errors or anything.

That's ~/.kde/share/apps/ktorrent/log from a clean session (after removing ~/.kde/share/apps/ktorrent/ and ~/.kde/share/config/ktorrentrc, starting ktorrent, rearranging columns and quitting - of course the column order was not saved):

Code: Select all
Bound to port 6881
Loading plugin infowidgetplugin
Loading plugin searchplugin
Showing KT

OK, it seems that for some reason, the destructor of KTorrentView does not get called.

What plugins do you have loaded when you do this ?

I have committed a solution to trunk, if you update to the latest, you can tell me if it works.

It works at last! At least for column order - the column sizes are not saved, though.
How did you fix it?

Calling it during another function, which gets called before exit.

But the column sizes should be saved.

Well, they are saved, but they also seem to have some minimual size below which I cannot resize them - which is silly, because there's still plenty of empty space left in them (both in titles and in the contents)...
