downloading problems

Wed Jan 18, 2006 4:24 pm
Hi all i use ktorrent 1.2rc1 in gentoo and i want to ask something.I start downloading a file (about 500MB) and while it says that i downloaded the 500MB of the file the percentage of completation of the file is 75% and is still downloading the file. Why is that?In azureus i downloaded the same file without that "problem"
[edit]I don't know if this is a bug but when i rebooted my pc and i launch ktorrent now it is showing to me that i have downloaded 435MB of 500MB total  [/edit]

It is possible, that this happens, if two peers send you the same piece, then this piece will be counted twice. (Because you downloaded it twice) Normally we only assign one peer to one chunk, but there is a limit on the number of chunks you can download simultanious, so when that happens, free peers get assigned to chunks which allready have peers assigned to it.

But, you should update to 1.2rc2, lots of bug fixes, and we assign peers a little bit different.
