Well, I just installed the 2.0 beta, and still Ktorrent keeps trying and failing to DL the last chunk of just about anything. It's nice that now it tries to DL that chunk at a nice, fast rate, but it still can't get it. Any advice? I tried the 2.0 package from here, and another packaged for Dapper (what I'm actually running) and they both were unable to get that last chunk. I'm now trying a new DL, to see if maybe something got messed up in the .torrent file itself, but that's gonna take a bit for it to hit 99.90%

I thinks it's probably a local situation here, like an old current_chunks file or something else. (just guessing)

Because i download every day and i haven't seen this problem for a long time now.

Well I wanted to believe it wasn't so, but Ktorrent is still refusing to grab the last chunk. Ktorrent 2.0 Beta. I even just reinstalled Kubuntu, and restarted my DL. Still with the same problem.

Azureus is broken for me in Dapper, and the normal BT client doesn't do UPnP. This is the only client I have left. (Not that I don't like the client, it's very nice.) So, now I'm going to go howl in frustration for a while.

Sorry for this thread resurrection, but is this issue supposed to be fixed?

I am just asking, because I have experienced this very same problem about 3-4 times in the last couple of weeks, and basically always it was symptomatic that there was 100% data/chunks availability, still the downloads often stalled at around 99%, but they could always be successfully completed after restarting (stopping/starting) the torrents manually, however sometimes this restart process had to be done several times in a row until it succeeded (all this is about KT 2.2.5).

Thanks,

Gnome Issue ?

Mon Mar 17, 2008 1:44 am
I've been using Gnome recently and KTorrent has been locking my laptop up (it's got plenty of RAM and CPU) - sometimes the hard drive is being accessed, sometimes not. I go back to KDE and all is well - I'd like to help track down this problem so if you can provide tips on where to look, I'd be happy to help...
FYI I'm using Fedora Core 7 latest ktorrent - 2.2.5-5.fc7.i386

When this happens, take a look at the log file (~/.kde/share/apps/ktorrent/log) and see if you can find many hash verification errors in it.

This could just be a bad pear poisoning the swarm.

I don't see any references to hash verification errors in the log.

You are actually downloading much from the look of that log file. Wait a bit longer.
