Automating KTorrent Startup/Shutdown

Hello!

I have something called "Night-Flatrate" from 9 pm to 7 am, where no traffic is charged.

So I need to start and stop KTorrent via Cron. Starting it is not a problem, but how can I close it, without loosing data?
Or is a simple "killall ktorrent" enough?

dcop ktorrent MainApplication-Interface quit

You can do more complex stuff with dcop, if you run dcop ktorrent you can see the other interfaces you can access.
