when using a torrent pointing to an udp tracker, I notice in the log "klauncher: udp protocol unknown"
this probably has nothing to do with ktorrent, since my other bittorrent client works with udp trackers, but could some kind soul point me towards the file(s) to edit ? ... and the 'other' client will most probably become my 'previous' client ![]() (Kubuntu 5.10, amd64-k8 platform, ktorrent 1.2, KDE 3.5.1) |

the port is forwarded OK in the router table (I also tested by switching it with the other UDP port that I know is working with the other client)
it seems that klauncher rejects URLs beginning by "udp:", probably because it doesn't know which module/program to send them to (sorry I'm not of the technical type !) I tried with the very same torrent from demonoid, in both udp and http versions: the http one works, and the udp version stalls forever filling the log with "klauncher: protocol 'udp' unknown" messages don't spend time on this, as I wrote above it's probably not a ktorrent problem, I already had several such problems that were solved by merely adding some program name in a config file... I'll ask through both KDE and Kubuntu lists, and I'll post any positive result here. |

This is a KT problem. Can you send me the UDP torrent in question ?
Normally if KT sees udp in the beginning of the tracker URL, it should handle it properly, but it seems here that it thinks the tracker is a http one and then tries use some KDE classes to do it's job, those classes cannot handle udp URL's. |

already ? you're truly amazing ! OK, couldn't wait so I stopped the seedings and the last 2 d/ls and re-imported them after installing the SVN version... So far, so good, all restarted without a problem, and yes the previously failing torrents seem running fine ![]() thanks |
