Hi, Im installed ktorrent. rpm in SUSE 9.1, I had a couple of .torrent too, but when
I tried to download nothing happens.
What can I do?

First of all what version of KTorrent have you got ?

Second, can you post your log file (~/.kde/share/apps/ktorrent/log) ?

I appear to have a similar problem. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the tracker but my log is filled with:

- are there any peers in the swarm?
- try to look for error codes, the part in this log just says that KTorrent wasn't able to download for x minutes and it tried to get more sources from the tracker.

There are peers and there are no error messages bar the ones i posted above. The status in the client stays at stalled! and there is no signs of it changing.

I'm on SuSE 10.0 with the ports setup on my router as Virtual Servers (other applicatiosn that use this appear to work).

Then the tracker is sending you back an empty peer list (which makes sens, if wasn't responding KT would retry)

if there was a list returned then you would see connection attempts.

I've found an error in the log now.

You have problems connecting to that server - could be anything.
Have you tried that torrent with some other bt client?

I am not sure why I cant connect either. Yes I can using other BitTorrent Clients.
Odd thing is that they see me, but I never connect to any peers.

What do you see in your log file ? And what version are you running ?

This is so weird. I tried this for 2 days. Ktorrent 1.2. Was having no problem with other torrent sites, but major issues with Dime. Try it again, and now its working! I have done nothing different, except this time I stopped all other torrents and loaded this one by itself. Strange. I blame it on dimes site.

I want to say that this Torrent client is really good. I notice no slow down on this system like with some python or java based clients.

I am using Ktorrent 1.2 debian build via the download section.
