I have just found this site because a torrent I tried to download brought up this message.
You don't have to be seeding many torrents. In my case, just downloading one particularly large one was enough to hit this restriction. The torrents in question are the MAME sets (ROMs for old arcade machines). If you want the torrent file, get "MAME v0.105 roms [Complete]", (free registration required) from http://full.pleasuredome.org.uk/ I don't know the technical solution to this, but bittornado can handle the torrent in the same situation. If it's not too idiotic a suggestion, maybe you could look at how they do it? It seems odd that if a torrent contains a few thousand files KTorrent would need to open them all at once. What version are you running ? Current SVN opens only when necessary, 1.2 keeps all files open all the time. |
