The confusion probably came from the fact that in previous versions of KT (1.1) the directory structure was different, and we had a directory named libtorrent, but this has nothing to do with libtorrent (the library).

Yeah that was the reason why i said them KTorrent was indeed libtorrent based. :(
Anyway, i editted the wikipedia page about this. (DHT and encryption on alpha too)

I should change that wiki oage.

That's the best way yes.
Please do so if there's still anything wrong. :)

EDIT
I just searched the history, and it looks i am seriously the reason why it was listed as libtorrent. (o boy :x )
This remembers me why i did this, i asked this on some bittorrent related irc channel, and they told me the names of the clients that where libtorrent based and KTorrent was one of them. (Note to self: probably better not to do this stuff when you're not the developer of the tool)

LOL, in that case you should be the one to fix it :-)

Just back from **** at the OiNK moderators a bit.

It looks like they no longer say that ktorrent is based on libtorrent... something it bypassing the cheat detection system or somesuch, and how they can't help you fix it.

Actually there are a few corrections that need to be added to this.. We never said it bypassed our cheat detection system.. We simply said that it isn't compatable with our cheat detection system...

That said there really isn't any way we can help you because to do so would be releasing info on how the system works..

Edit:
On another note I just wanted to add how good the software looks so far.. I have looked at the screen shots and it does look very user friendly.. I will download it to play with.

@OiNK moderator:
First of all, thanks for replying here.

Now if you're really willing to help, I think we can solve this problem without you disclosing any cheat detection information.

We did everything we had thought of to make KT compatible with private trackers.
- KTorrent is following official BitTorrent protocol specification
- We changed UserAgent string to identify KT version
- PeerIDs identify both stable and development versions (betas too)
- We made sure DHT is not leaking (DHT is strictly forbidden for private torrents)
- KTorrent obeys tracker update interval
- It surely isn't libtorrent based - doesn't hurt to mention again :)

I can't think of anything more at the moment.
Tell me, please, those incompatibilities you mentioned - you have experienced them with earlier versions right? Or does it apply to the current development version too?

As I said, we won't bug private tracker moderators until the next stable release but if there's anything more to be done to make KT compatible with your tracker we would surely like to know before it's too late.

We would appreciate any kind of feedback here. Offcourse, if you can even give us a hint - you can do it via private message and you'll have our full discretion.

EDIT: I've just seen your edit so now I have to do it too :)
Screenshots are old, there are lots of improvements since then. If you plan to install KTorrent try installing development version from SVN.
