Mate, why are you hijacking this topic and not creating a new one?

You need gmp installed.

Using Kubuntu 7.10

I am scheduling a new task as follows with an expectation to fire the ktorrent program at 7:20 am:

Program : /usr/bin/ktorrent
Run Daily check box is on. Hours = 7 (for 7 am). Minutes = 20 min.

Clicking OK..... Saving the kcron.

The program never starts. What is the problem?

I also have set up the variables as shown in the first post of this thread.

I have another task which is running, that is as follows:
Program : /bin/date >> /home/myname/time.txt
Run Daily- ON, Hours=Each Hour, Minutes=Each Five minutes.
The above task is nicely appending time to my time.txt file.

What wrong I am doing in the first case? Please help.

You probably can't reach the X server because the DISPLAY variable isn't set when cron is being run.
