Error compiling svn 535634

Sat Apr 29, 2006 11:37 pm
Hi,

This is the first time i've tried to compile ktorrent (svn 535634) and I got the following problem when i follow the instructions in the FAQ:

make -f Makefile.cvs
./configure
make
-------------------------------------------

WARNING: use unsermake instead of make or use a wrapper script, e.g. makeobj!!!
unsermake all

depdir_value = utilities.subst_vars["DEPDIR"]
KeyError: 'DEPDIR'
make: *** [all] Error 1
-------------------------------------------

Any idea what happens?

Thanks a lot for any hint!

Try automake instead of unsermake, or maybe get the latest version of unsermake. Never had any problems with unsermake.

I got the same result with automake. My version of unsermake is 0.4 (installed by Ubuntu).

Which version are you using?

Are you using x64 platform?
I saw this problem once on my friends x64 machine. Never had a chance to solve it though.

No, I'm running on x86 platform.

I wanted to compile the last svn version in order to avoid the random hangs that ktorrent provokes. Due to those, the whole X-window system freezes and i've to reboot the computer.

Weird...

I'm using Kubuntu Breezy x86, KDE 3.5.2 with unsermake 0.4, automake 1.9.5 and autoconf 2.59 - and it works just fine.

If you don't solve this problem I could make a DEB package of current SVN so you can install it.

Fixed!

The problem was that my automake was 1.4 instead of 1.9

Thanks a lot Ivan and George for the hint and the help.

Now I'm running 1.3dev and hope to stop the reboot problem.
