Could someone help me?

I'm a recent Debian user...

I cannot copy my already downloaded files (located at /home/user/.kde/share/apps/ktorrent) to a FAT32 partition. And when I access them that location they appear like "links". Well, I'm really not an experient Linux user, and I don't know why it happens. Can't I accessa my KTorrent downloaded files with Windows?

I'm thank to anyone who can help me.

It's not related with KTorrent.

You're trying to copy file bigger than 2GB (it's FAT32 limitation) or you're making shotcuts rather than copying (or copying shortcuts). I suggest you to set more userfiendly path to your files (e.g. ~/downloads :) ).

Right, but I could not find how to set the path for the downloaded files. In windows applications such as Limewire or Bitcomet, it is easily configurable through the "options" toolbar. How do I do it in KTorrent?
PS: The total files size is not over 2GB.

Thanks! :)

In KTorrent go to Settings -> Configure KTorrent... -> General -> Automatically save downloads to

Tick that and select a location to download your files to.

It is possible to select a location on your FAT32 partition, but that has its difficulties. I've seen a few posts here reporting problems doing that (that are, incidentally, not KTorrent related, but rather filesystem issues). Check other posts on this forum for info on that.

Oh right. I was looking for it at Settings -> Configure KTorrent... -> Downloads and, off course, I couldn't find it there... lol

Thanks!

You have to be carefull with using fat partitions. It has some limitations and we pretty much ignore these. So some torrents might give problems (with weird characters in their names for example)
