Can I change the announce/update interval from 40 min. to 10-20 min?

(I think 40 min. is too long, many times after ~20 min. upload is 0KB/s until next update.)

Announce interval is set by tracker itself so you cannot change it.
However, you can use manual announce but I wouldn't recommend doing that on private trackers since it may get you banned.

Now, about the speed. What version are you running? There are way too many improvements since v1.2 which will be included in the following release. First beta release is expected very soon.

Thanks for answer, I didn't know this. I use KTorrent 1.2.

I tested what happen:
- I'm a seeder
- at announce: KTorrent connect to leechers: ~4 (10)
- elapse ~10 min, 4 leechers finished the download (they reach the 100% availability)
- no connected peer and no upload until next update

(Maybe help this something, maybe not. I just wrote down.)

Sounds pretty normal, we do not keep around connections to seeders when we are seeding something, they are useless. You will have to wait for leechers to connect to you, or for the next announce.

The interval is pretty important for private trackers and we need to respect this. Otherwise private trackers will ban us, some allready have done so. We are working with one private tracker to make sure the next release of KT complies fully, so it can get unbanned.
