port conflict

Hi everybody,
i'm just a beginner with linux so don't bug me.

It seems i configured the kTorrent Port to an allready assign one.
So my question is how can i change it without(?) starting kTorrent.
I ddidn't found a config file either.

You can change the port in the prefences dialog (The downloads page).

No need to change the port without starting KT. Just change it in preferences like George said, or restart KT if you want to make sure that messageBox is gone.

Thanks for the fast answers, but it seems i forgot to tell a little detail.
At the moment when i'mtrying to start kTorrent it crashes.
So it's not possible for me to change the port in the program.
Before i changed the port the program did it's job well. and i'm absolutly sure that i only changed the port.

The configuration is saved in
/home/user/.kde/share/configktorrentrc

The port settings are located in section
[downloads]

I hope you can solve it this way.

For the next newbie its this location:

That shouldn't happen, normally we just pick the next available port and popup a dialog to inform the user.

What version are you using and have you got a backtrace ?
