I use an external system monitor to look at system resource usage. This monitor includes a network monitor.
I've noticed that the upload speeds reported by kTorrent are significantly lower than those reported by my external monitor. kTorrent's reported speeds also fluctuate a great deal more. I am just curious, do I have a flaky network monitor (torsmo), or is ktorrent not using upload bandwidth very efficiently? Thanks for making such a great client! I love it! |

The upload speed reported is only the speed of data. My guess is you are probably seeing lots of incoming and outgoing connection attempts, DHT, protocol overhead ... |

And what should be the normal overhead? The enormous upload was reported before: http://ktorrent.pwsp.net/forum/viewtopi ... t=overhead http://ktorrent.pwsp.net/forum/viewtopi ... t=overhead For example at this moment (2 downloads, 3 uploads) overhead gets up to 70% of averything. |

My plan is to deal with this before the final 2.0 release and limit the overhead to a more normal level. |

Isn't it possible that the program you're using to count the bandwidth prints the speeds, counts the speed over a longer time than ktorrent? |
