I recently downloaded and compiled the final 2.0 source from the download page on my Kubuntu box with the default KDE packages, but now both the max download and upload rates in the preferences and the scheduler are being completely ignored.
I had downloaded the Kubuntu 2.0rc1 binary package previously, in which the rate limits worked ok apart from this bug: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131246 I thought I was on to something when I changed the number of upload slots from 5, which I set it to earlier, back to 4 as the rate limits seemed to be applied for a while, but a few minutes later they were being ignored again. I also tried deleting the ktorrentrc and ktschedulerpluginrc files from my .kde folder and reset all the settings but to no avail. I haven't seen anyone else report this problem so I don't know if something has gone wrong with my compilation or if there are some other config files that need resetting.

Hi,
I've noticed the same issue. I'm using SuSE 10.0, KTorrent 2.0. The RPM is ktorrent-2.0.0-2.1 Even when setting the GUI refresh to 2s, I'm seeing transfer rates twice as high as I've configured. Btw, thanks for the great tool KTorrent is. Please consider this email as support, not as a complaint about a bug. Let me know if more info is needed. Reemi. |

In my case not even the scheduler is having any affect on the speed. It would be really nice to get this bug ironed out as I like Ktorrent's integration with KDE and the overall design. Thanks for the great work.
