What does the option "keep seeding after download is finished" in the download section of preferences actually do?

From what it says, I would think it toggles whether or now I continue seeding after my download finishes (exactly what it says). Yet no matter whether it is checked or not, I always continue seeding after the download finishes. This is not ideal in situations where I have limited monthly bandwidth and there are 100 seeders already.

If it is unchecked, it should imply that I would not seed after finishing the download. Either that option is broken, or the string ought to be changed.

If you want people always to seed, that is understandable, but then why have that option? Or is it intended to do something else? If so, what? /curious

That option is broken, it seems that nobody really noticed it until you came along ...

It should not be much trouble to fix.
