We have seen this crash like 2000 times now, every 2 weeks somebody comes along reporting this.

Anyway this has been fixed a long time ago, and you should upgrade to 2.0.2.

Depends on the distro you use. But you should check out the repository of your distribution for the new version, and if it's not available there, there are probably other binary sources(i.e. the ktorrent.org homepage has some) to get you going.
