Hi All, I have been using ktorrent on and off for a while, and I am getting mixed results. I am getting almost a 2 to 1 ratio for uploads to downloads. It seems a bit off to me, and I was wondering if I can encourage it to dowload faster. It is very slow at times, and then at other times quick. Slow being 1-5kb and fast at 100+kb, mostly it is slow though. I am using the latest ktorrent on the latest KDE desktop, and on Fedora Core 5. I have turned off the firewall at times to see if it would make any difference, but it did not. Could it be the SE Linux security program slowing me down. Any suggestions with detailed guidlines would be very helpful. ps. I have all my preferences set to zero for unlimited access both ways, and I have my upload slots at 10. It hasn't changed the upload speed when it was at 4 slots, I changed it hoping to get a faster download from more peers. Thanks again for any help.

Don't set your upload limit to 0 'cause your uploads can saturate your download speed. Usually, upload limit is set to about 80% of your real upload capacity so try this first. Also, set number of upload slots depending on that limit which you should divide with the number of upload slots you plan to set and see how much will each peer be getting (in ideal occasions offcourse) and you should see if that's enough or not.

Try this and see what happens.
