Does KTorrent work with proxies?

Sun Sep 10, 2006 12:23 pm
My machine is behind a router which has a static IP. I have to use an HTTP proxy or a SOCKS5 proxy to access the Internet. I've enabled the UPnP plugin, port 6881(TCP/UDP) and 4444(UDP) is forwarded by the router. What else should I setup to use the proxy?

Many thanks!

You will have to fill in your static IP address in the settings dialog, so that KT can tell the tracker the correct IP address, so that it will not use the one from the proxy

You can do that in the settings dialog under General -> Custom IP

Enable the checkbox and fill in your static IP address.

Do you mean the static ip of the router or my machine (192.168.1.*)?

Thanks!

The static IP of your router, if you have the correct port forwarded it will get to your local machine.

We use KDE code to do the HTTP connection, so if you have setup your proxy in konqueror, it should work.
