importing existing KTorrent data

Sun Sep 10, 2006 10:49 pm
I just imported my backed up torrent data and KTorrent files and restored them on another computer. They exist in the exact same path on both systems, by the way.

On the computer I restored to, I dropped the data files (~/.kde/apps/share/ktorrent) in place and started KTorrent. Everything seems okay, and the downloads are resuming as I expected. It still knows how much of each torrent I've downloaded and seems to be continuing where it left off.

*Except*, the "part of the torrent which have been downloaded" widget on the status tab is not accurate. It shows only a dozen or so of the 33% of the torrent I had already downloaded. This seems to be true for 5 of 6 of the torrents I was downloading. Only one of them appears accurate.

EDIT: I should also note that on the Chunks tab shows the correct numbers in Total and Downloaded.

Is this a bug? Is it screwing up my downloads?

Thanks.

Another one who experienced this issue here: http://ktorrent.org/forum/viewtopic.php ... ight=chunk

Do you have the latest version?

Very similar to that thread.

I'm running 2.0.1 from the edgy repo. I moved the files from a dapper box, also running 2.0.1 (actually, it may have been 2.0).

This is a very strange bug, the files are the same on both computers so you would expect that the same bars would get drawn.

I suggest someone else try it on their same box, with a different user to confirm. It's very odd.

I will try later today on another computer in the network. (dunno about the status of this pc though, it could be in a somewhat unworkable state after my previous playing)

Nope i can seem to get the same results. I did just like you reusing the torX folder:

Bar with the svn version on my normal computer: (1024p)
Image

Bar with the 2.0.1 version on the target computer: (1024p)
Image

I don't see the difference.
I also made a shot of the normal 1600p resolution on my normal computer, which also looks quite the same:

Maybe it depends on the size and/or the count of file inside the torrent? I have no idea but anyway, my files were:

$ ls -as
totaal 507576
4 . 507560 Pink Floyd - The Wall DiVX.avi
8 .. 4 Torrent downloaded from Demonoid.com.txt
