Ktorrent freezes system

Sat Sep 16, 2006 2:28 am
Hi,
I managed to compile ktorrent on MEPIS, however everytime I turn on Ktorrent with a torrent loaded, the system freezes completly. I get no response from the mouse or keyboard and have no choice but to do a hard reboot. Can anyone help me figure out what the problem is?

Here's a segment of my syslog, before (21:52) and after (after 22:17) the crash:

That's very strange, after this happens have you tried logging in from a different PC over SSH ?

If you can get to a shell you can check with top if this is very high CPU usage.

Hello together,

it seems, i have the same problem like Xenodamus. After Ktorrent is running a while my system freezes and i have to do a hard restart by using the reset button. It would be great if someone could help me to solve this problem.

What kind of network card are you using?

I suspect a buggy driver causing it (some of the wireless drivers are notorious for this, especially Ralink's rt2xxx drivers)

Hi, sorry for for long reply. The problem turned out to be an old i686 kernel for MEPIS. Ktorrent works perfectly now. :)
