can someone please explain in normal english.. what and how encryption method can do good while downloading torrent? does it make any diff with or without it? i tried both ways but did not see much diff
using ktorrent 2.0.3 getting much better performance than previous version and its connecting more peers than ever. basically i use bittornado but ktorrent's this version doing good job at this moment. |

"Encrypted only" does you good if:
- your ISP is throttling your connection Both encryption and normal connections does you good if: - you ISP is not throttling your connection This is because some peers could deliver you a much higher speed if they use encryption. Where on the other hand, when you do encryption only, you're likely to not be able to connect to "some part" of the other peers in swarm. So it's best to let the other side deside here to get the best of both. |

Another suggestion is to look into wondershaper, an easy-to-use script for setting up traffic shaping. With wondershaper, you can set the upload limit to unlimited, and the network stack will automatically throttle/prioritize it for you so that heavy uploads do not affect download speed, or web browsing/SSH response times or pings. |

If your ISP is throttling you and you allow non encrypted connections, those connections will be throttled, If you get some data out of them I guess it can't hurt, even though they will be slower |
