Thanks Ivan. i found somewhre how to calculate upload limit. they said for speed like mine i should put 75% of my upload (13) which comes 9 and for high speed connection 85% ....so i put my upload limit 9kB/s 2.0.3 is really good. good work team.its better than azureus. never liked azureus takes heaps of memory and everytime i use that for a long time my net connection stop working and i had to restart my modem. kTorrent is pretty good very stable. it should have more nice plugins. |

You're right. Except, you mentioned your connection is 512/128 so your upload is not maxed at 13. It's 16KB/s (128kbps == 16kB/s). In this case 75% is 12kB/s. It should be safe to put this value as upload limit. |

yes if u calculate it then 16kB/s is for 512/128 but practically we never get that much only 13kB/s so i calculated it based on 13kB/s not 16kB/s. i should have done it with 16kB/s can you help me with something else? my modem has two port map field when i configure port forwarding option. it does work when i do forward single port but for a range of port it does not work. what value should i put for port map? my settings are port start: 10000; port end: 60000 port map: 10000; port map end: 60000 m i doing anything wrong? |

Port mapping in my router, is the possibility to put traffic from let say port 49152 on the router, to 6881 on my computer.
I am not sure if all routers do this the same, but my router let me do this optional(from dialog perspective). For normal work, i think you shouldn't need it when you don't have such a restrictive network. (at least, i haven't...) BTW, forwarding two or three ports for KTorrent is enough and should be safer. (two if you want DHT and the normal general port on the same port and UDP-tracker on it's own, and three if you want all on a different one) |

no i can not skip port map and i have to fill it in, before upgrading my firmware i only had one port map field and i could forward a range of port without any trouble. i m having this problem since upgraded the firmware.
i can do forward only single port now. its fine for me cause everything is working very fine. so i m not complaining, it would b better if i could forward a range of port. less hassle. ... Rasel |

Yeah, my zyxel was per port too, i guess they do that dialog thing to prevent a user does open thousand ports, while they shouldn't need it.
But anyway, i think you already got it; If you can't skip the mapping part, then you should just fill in the same ports as you're forwarding. (because that's what the router is doing internal when you don't want to use mapping) |
