DHT Problem

Tue Oct 17, 2006 11:33 am
I'm using Ktorrent 2.03 (kubuntu package). The u/d is going well, but I get a big fat X over DHT on every user in my list and in the bottom it states that there is 0 DHT Nodes etc. In preferences DHT is enabled and "sticks" when i restart the client so no problem there. The port is the same as I use for downloading.

Anyone who has a solution to this?

DHT should start with collecting information when you connect to KTorrent or mainline clients.

I have earlier been using uTorrent before I transfered to Linux, so I really hope this client will work "almost" as good as uTorrent did.

But as I stated earlier I'm not getting any DHT love from clients, It must be from my side. I tried on my portable (who is still running XP) and got like 240 DHT clients connected pritty much at ones.

µTorrent doesn't exactly play by the rules when indicating that it supports DHT, which is rather annoying. We need to do something about that, when I have some more time.

Once you get a couple of peers support DHT, who indicate this properly, it should find more DHT nodes easily.

i m having no problem with DHT, everything is fine. total peers connected is 90 and DHT nodes are 116, but speed pretty much moving between 10-45kB/s may b becoz its the torrent i m downloading

still have to complain about KTorrent 2.0.3 version.
