try not to explode but i run debian linux with gnome. i run kde/qt apps all the time and they work fine and so does ktorrent... except this one bit. i load the ip filter plugin just fine and when i click the download/convert, it downloads just fine and says press the "convert" button. when i do, nothing happens. to be sure, i checked top... only Xorg and top were using the CPU. so all i get is this dialog box that sits waiting for me to close or cancel.
![]() what's the deal?

i didnt realize there was a log file but upon opening it, it seems the problem has been more defined.
while it says it cant find the file here is the ls command line output
here's some information about the debian package i installed ktorrent with.
Maintainer: Joel Johnson <mrjoel@lixil.net> also, i opened the level1 zip file and it was valid, containing "splist.txt" thanks

Ok. KTorrent cannot find level1 file because it's not converted yet. This is normal so far.
What I meant is that you should try the whole scenario again, so try converting bluetack zip file again (if you already downloaded it, point KT to the file you don't have to use download URL again). When converting dialog appears click on 'Convert' and if the same thing happens close the dialog and KT and then post me the log file. I need to see how far does the converting go. Some log messages could help me find that out I hope. |

just to start from scratch, i deleted ~/.kde/share/apps/ktorrent, the config file, cleared the cache and kde tmp files. i started ktorrent and it was back to it's original state when first started. i loaded the ipfilter plugin, clicked the download/convert button, waited forever for it to download again, the convert dialog box came up and i clicked the convert button. nothing happened like before so i clicked close and then closed ktorrent. i found the resulting log which is not any more helpful than the previous one.
so it looks like it never even tried to convert the file... meh.

i do believe i found the problem. i ran ktorrent with the --debug param and here's the terminal output.
not sure about this but i think it's saying there is no support for the zip archive format. what dependency is needed for that?

For some reason you have troubles with KIO extracting your files. And ark works. Does ark even use KIO? Nevermind, I'll look into it.
As a workaround, well actually it's ment to be used like that, you can manually extract level1.zip or whatever its name is and use that file with KTorrent. Just use local URL of the extracted file instead of bluetacks zipped one. |
