Currently, KT doesn't have any web interface but seeing that we have a plugin structure one could easily make this plugin. So, if there are any volunteers... :)

Anyway, we do have ktshell script included in the package so you will be able to control KT via SSH. Are you familiar with using SSH?

Basically, making this plugin won't be a big problem as far as I can see. Integrating plugin with KTorrent is not a problem we can help you with that (just a few rules to take care of). The rest is up to you. BTW, we use C++/QT for development.

Stuff you'll need to do:

1. Build a (multi)threaded server. There are dozens of examples on the web, this shouldn't be a problem I think.
2. Make a few HTML templates you'll use to send to clients (we can even plan ahead these templates so that users could pick different ones).
3. Use KTorrent core interface to send/receive information about torrents.

The only thing I'd worry about is threading. KTorrent is not designed to use threads so accessing KTCore interface from multiple threads might screw things up, am I right George?

About SSH, think of it as secure telnet session. I'm sure you'll figure it out ('man ssh' will probably do).

Upon successfull remote connection, just fire 'ktshell' and you'll figure out the rest.

I want to use webinterface, but I don't know default password :( When I activate webinterface plugin and trying to change password (I have 10 asterisks [*] in "Password" field), I can't do that. I can change any other field: user, port, PHP executable path etc., but it don't works for password.

Can you guys help me? :)

I'm using KTorrent 2.1beta1-8.1 RPM for OpenSUSE 10.1.

Unfortunately - no, it doesn't erase. I'm clicking like a mad password filed, but cursor stays all the time at the end of password (after last asterisk). Backspace or Delete keys also are "inactive".

Just start typing your password. No backspace no delete. The asterisks should start from the beginning as you type out your password. I thought the same thing when I first used it.

Jeremy

@dierbro Possibly consider changing this, so that it won't confuse as many people. Either remove the asterisks or have them disappear when clicked. BTW love the plugin. I use it probably more than I use KTorrents interface.

Thank you, you are right! :) BTW: "original" asterisks didn't disappear, they are still in password field; my asterisk-covered password didn't appear, but my password works perfectly :)
