Random error

Mon Nov 06, 2006 12:06 pm
Hi,

I'm currently serving more than 100 torrents at a time. I've started to notice that sometimes I get this error (I started running ktorrent from the command line and leaving its console opened to be able to see debug and/or error messages):

kio (Slave): slave failed to connect to application pid=10715 protocol=http

I understand that's something about a limit somewhere about opening the child with kioslave, but I don't know under which circumstances that happens and how can be fixed. As that error comes when ktorrent sends the report to the tracker (afaik, tries to open konqueror or something to send the info to the tracker), and it has ratio control, peers continue downloading but the reports aren't sent, and that's not good for me :)

Thanks.

This should not happen anymore in the development version, were we use KIO's job scheduling, so that not to many are running at the same time.

So should I get the last available snapshot? I'm using 2.0.2 btw.

Thanks.

I compiled the last SVN snapshot and, despite it seems not to have this problem, it crashed 2 times while adding new torrents. So I installed 2.0.3 from packages and increased the open files limit: the error hasn't come back again.

Regards.
