choose language in ktorrent

Sat Nov 25, 2006 6:42 am
im a spanish user, and have KDE configured ok with that, but in the case of ktorrent, i don like the spanish translation, in fact is horrible...
i mean, "sanguijuela" is not really a good way of tranlating leecher.
i never had a problem cause i always used the svn code (with no translation) but since the 2.1beta1 is good enough for me, i changed.
so, i would prefer ktorrent to be (fully) in inglish, as im used to, but cant find a way to compile or execute the program to get that.
maybe an option in the config menu would be good
at least some way of bypasing it now to be able to see at ktorrent without having nausea
and by the way, thanks for the GREAT wotk at this marvellous software 8)

I dunno whether this will work for non-distribution versions, but you could try.

find / -name ktorrent.mo
this will probably get you find the English version of the file ktorrent.mo in /usr/share/locale-langpack/en_GB/LC_MESSAGES/ktorrent.mo
cp this to /home/stoeptegel/Desktop/.kde/share/share/locale/language-code-your-KDE-is-running/LC_MESSAGES/ktorrent.mo
and you should be set.

Otherwise the files are here, depending on which version you run:
http://websvn.kde.org/trunk/l10n/en_GB/ ... r-network/
http://websvn.kde.org/branches/stable/l ... r-network/

Another way to do this is start it from a terminal with this command :

KDE_LANG=en_US ktorrent

this seems to be the best way.
