Due to an error somewhere in suse I am unable to access my default user. I tried to restart some of my torrents in an alternate user. I was able to recreate the torrents but they won't start, giving error:
'XXXX torrent name' has been stopped with the following error;
Cannot open /home/xxxx/.kde/share/apps/ktorrent/tor0/cache: Permission denied.

Is there a way I can fix this so I can use these torrents.

Have you copied .kde/share/apps/ktorrent from old user account to the new one?

I tried the suggestion from lucke. Now I can readd the torrents without error but ktorrent wants to download them again instead of seeding........

Than you probably have not saved it in the correct location path or you are using an outdated version.

Hey, I seem to be having the same problem, except the files are all there and everything. Do you guys know of any other reasons it would be doing this? Thanks!

The permissions are probably allready 644, the problem is that the files will have the wrong owner. So you need to do a chown on those files to your other user name.

The cache directory in the torX directories contains symlinks to the actual data files, so you probably need to chown those to.

That should make everything work again, if it doesn't want to seed, you will have to a manual integrity check on each torrent.

Had that issue when I first tried to use ktorrent. Resolved it by changing default permissions on the folder I download/seed from. I use Kubuntu btw.
