(Error: Cannot open index file /h)

Sat Dec 09, 2006 3:29 am
If been getting this error:

Error: Cannot open index file /***/***/*** too many open files.
It occurs while downloading or seeding.......

when using KTorrent 2.1beta1.

Then when i restart the Torrent the problem disappears.

Thanx,

You are hitting your system limits on open files per process, it usually is around 1024. (if you want to see it do ulimit -n in a shell)

You can try increasing the system limit or limit the number of peers per torrent (network connections are also seen as files), or limit the number of torrents.
