I would try and load KTorrent with an empty temp folder. This will remove all torrents from GUI and you will loose the local stats, but both issues can be fixed with some preparation:

Before removing the temp files in
/home/andre/.kde/share/apps/ktorrent/torX
take a look in these tor folders and find out where the symlink files are pointing to on your disk. This is so that you know the correct path, and once you open the old torrents, you can point to a proper save location and having KTorrent to automaticly rehash the data.

The torrent files, torrent, are also in these torX folders. Save them if it is your only source for the torrent file.

Then if you really have the need to, you could write down the uploaded stats from the text file stats in your torX folder, so in that you know what ratio really should be in GUI. (but this is optional, it doesn't really matter)

This leaves going to konsole,
cd ~/.kde/share/apps/ktorrent [enter]
rm -rf ./tor* [enter]
(do NOT remove from konqueror)

And opening the torrent files you backed up earlier on the proper paths.
Worth a try.

Also check if the KTorrent process is really running....

Do you use KDE o GNOME?

I use GNOME and sometimes the KTorrent doesn't seem to be running only to find out that the app was minimized before closing the last time it was open. And it was supposed to minimize to the tray but ended up somewhere else on the desktop or totally outside of the desktop environment.

if you can't find the icon I've noticed that it helps to close the process(es) and then run
Code: Select all
ktorrent --nofork

in terminal.

I don't understand why but it works...

1.0? :) O boy, that is old. Good thing you upgraded, because no one should use that version anymore. I am not sure how the upgrade process of that version ought to be taken if you want to take the torrent with you. The devs probably have a better view on this. To which version did you upgrade, 2.0.3 at least i hope?

There is no backward compatability to 1.0, the best thing you can do is use the import plugin to reimport the data of the torrents you were downloading.
