Hi, I am new to ktorrent, having just switched from azureus. Running the beta 2.1.
Anyway, when I try to start my torrents, the peer number starts showing peers. netstat -nat shows that I am indeed connected to many wonderful peers. iptraf shows that I am indeed using 100% of my downstream connection. Meanwhile, ktorrent continues to show 0k/s downstream usage, and all my torrents have not changed % (they are non-zero percentage because I moved my downloads over from azureus, and rechecked them) I have left it like this for about 30 minutes without any change. I don't want to go further because unfortunately I am on a download quota and I'm not sure what ktorrent is doing with my bandwidth. I am just curious as to what ktorrent is doing in this stage? |

I am using a mix of private and public torrents. All torrents have been worked with azureus. Infact, I am not even sure how to tell what trackers they are on within ktorrent? I suppose I need this info widget which everybody is talking about (or whatever this is http://ktorrent.org/images/screenshots/mwnd.png), but how do I go about installing this? I have not been able to tell from the main page or a basic google search. |

There is a bug in the beta, which can result in a scrape going bad, which will result in KT downloading all info about all torrents that tracker is seeding. This happens for example with the pirate bay tracker. We have fixed this bug, you should try out a recent weekly snapshot.
Infowidget is a plugin, you can load that from the plugins page in the settings dialog. |

thanks, I will rollback to 2.0 for the meantime.
I'm sorry to ask, but can you either walk me through this or provide a step-by-step guide to doing this? In KTorrent, if I select Settings -> Configure KTorrent. Then I click on the plugin window on the left (I assume this is the plugings page), which provides me an blank table, and the only button which I can click is "Unload All". I'm not sure how to load the plugins exactly? of course this is in b2.1, I will try 2.0 and see if I experience the same thing. |

Hi guys, after switching to 2.0.2, the actual downloading part is working which is great! However I'm still getting no plugins.
I cannot access the link, but because there aren't any to click on, no I cannot. http://adante.11011.net/pics/2006-12-22-060000_627x627_scrot.png
I am using gentoo and installed via portage (ktorrent-2.0.2 ebuild) and not exactly sure what it calls (seems to be kde_src_compile). I don't understand the process that well, but from poking around I have these files:
also, when I try to start ktorrent I get these warnings:
running kbuildsycoca produces a bunch of undefined mimetype errors as such:
Anyway thanks everyone for your help, I may try manually compiling from source a bit later when I have time. |
